Preschool ballet classes are as much about learning ballet as they are about socialising and learning structure in a fun and friendly environment. As an introduction to dance and rhythm we learn to point our feet and walk around on tiptoes. We also use props like flowers, scarves and ribbons where we employ the use of imagery to pretend to be characters or animals. It’s a great way to socialise with other children and develop their creative and communication skills. Ballet practice improves flexibility and muscle strength and tone; it has the advantage of working the entire body. In particular, it strengthens abdominal and improves posture. Parents are required to stay with students throughout this lesson.
All of our students are working towards achieving their International Dance Rewards in ballet! There are a list of targets for each level and certificates and badges are available for purchase from the dance school. Children get to put stickers on their reward charts everything they achieve something new!
Our students also have the option to take part in our end of year show in the summer!
