Baby ballet classes are as much about learning ballet as they are about socialising and learning structure in a fun and friendly environment. As an introduction to dance and rhythm we learn to point our feet and walk around on tiptoes. We also use props like flowers, scarves and ribbons where we employ the use of imagery to pretend to be characters or animals.
It’s a great way to socialise with other children and develop their creative and communication skills. Ballet practice improves flexibility and muscle strength and tone; it has the advantage of working the entire body. In particular, it strengthens abdominal and improves posture.
Students are required to wear out school’s uniform leotard, skirts and tights are optional. Cardigans are recommended for the colder months. These are £9.00 and can be bought from your teacher. we have sizes from as small as 3-4 Years and they are machine washable.
All of our students are working towards achieving their International Dance Rewards in ballet! There are a list of targets for each level and certificates and badges are available for purchase from the dance school.
These classes are held at a different venue to our other classes. Since we are unable to use Freemantle United Reformed Church on Sundays due to their service. We instead use Studio 202 at Richard Taunton College, Hill Lane, Southampton, SO15 5RL. If you walk through reception, turn right into the canteen and then right again after the canteen, there will be signs to the studio.
Our students also have the option to take part in our end of year show in June! This year we are doing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz! These photos are from our show last year, Alice in wonderland!
These classes are £5.00 per session or cheaper if you pay in half term instalments. We also offer a multiple class/sibling discount of 15% off the fees.
First class is only half price at £2.50!
