Preschool Classes

Preschool Ballet: 09.00-09.40 Saturdays // £5.50

Due to the age of the students these classes are more about learning structure, following exercises, interacting, socialising and creativity.

Ballet technique needs years of practice and focus. However, we have seen first hand the accelerated progress students make when they’re older if they have started within the class environment from a younger age.

Parents are required to stay in the room for this age group and are welcome to join in as much or as little as their young one requires. As the dancers get a bit more comfortable and relaxed within the environment, parents are normally able to sit down and watch their child take part.

Props and toys are a useful tool for keeping this age group engaged. Will use ribbons and scarves to make lovely colours and shapes. We use spots of stand on or jump over. Wands for pretending to be fairies and beanbags for helping us work on our posture.

Each class starts with a little course set up round the room for children to come in and get moving and used to the space while everyone is arriving. This helps the children feel more settled when everyone sits down to start focusing on pointing our toes!

Each student will get a reward chart to work on! We try and get it so each child will achieve a colour every half term. The young levels for ballet have six colours – red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple.

Once completed they go up to the next level. Children will be able to take their reward charts home once complete. If parents want they can purchase a certificate and badge for each level achieved for £5.00

Students of every class are welcome to take part in our summer show commemorating the dance school’s birthday (end of May).

The preschool ballet class are also thoroughly enjoyed by the audience as putting on a great performance and being extremely cute!
